or find it from your measurements
Enter measurements in centimeters or inches (toggle above; 1 in ≈ 2.54 cm). If bust and hip point to different sizes, go with the larger one — you may need separate top/bottom sizes.
or find it from your chest measurement
Suit/jacket size is set by chest circumference; shirt size is set by neck (collar) circumference. Measure your collar around the base of your neck. Enter values in cm or in (toggle above).
or find it from your foot length
Measure in the evening, from heel to longest toe, in centimeters or inches (toggle above). Add about 0.5-1 cm (¼ in) of room for comfort.
or find it from your child's height
Go by height, not age. EU kids' sizing is directly a height (cm) system; children of the same age can vary in height by 10-15 cm. Enter cm or in (toggle above).
Band = directly under the bust; bust = fullest point of the bust. Enter values in cm or in (toggle above) and your band + cup size is calculated automatically across all systems.
or convert from a known size
E.g. pick US 34 + C to see the EU equivalent and a "sister size" suggestion (one band up/down, one cup down/up).
⚠️ Fit varies by brand: These charts are a standard international reference (Mondopoint/ISO 9407 for shoes, the EN 13402 height system for kids). Every brand cuts to its own pattern — for example, Zara/Mango tend to run small and Nike shoes often run about half a size small. For an exact fit, always check the brand's own centimeter measurements too. This tool is for general guidance only.

How US, EU, and UK clothing sizes compare

Why the same body measurement gets a different number depending on where a garment is sized, and how to find your true size from a measurement.

A clothing size converter translates a size given in one country's system (for example, the US) into the equivalent in another system (Europe/EU, the United Kingdom/UK) and into centimeters. American sizing typically runs on small numbers for women (0, 2, 4, 6…), Europe and most of the rest of the world use even numbers that climb faster (32, 34, 36…), and the UK uses small numbers again but offset from the US. Because the scales don't line up 1-to-1, treating a "US 8" as if it were an "8" in another system is one of the most common online-shopping mistakes.

How do I use this tool?

Quick answerPick a category from the tabs above (women's, men's, shoes, kids, bra). Choose your size in whichever system you already know — every other system updates instantly. If you don't know your size, enter your body or foot measurement in the centimeter fields below the selects and the tool finds your closest match.
  • Clothing is sized by bust/chest, waist, and hip. If your measurements point to different sizes (say, a top runs S but the bottom runs M), you may need to buy separate pieces in different sizes.
  • Shoes are sized by foot length. The Mondopoint system is based directly on foot length in millimeters; the EU (Paris-point) size is a scaled equivalent of that same length.
  • Kids' clothing should be chosen by height, not age — EU sizing is directly a height (cm) label, so a size 98 is meant for a child about 98 cm tall.

What's the actual difference between US, EU, and UK sizes?

Quick answerIn women's clothing, EU size = US size + 32 (a US 6 ≈ EU 38), and UK size = US size + 4 (a US 6 = UK 10). In shoes, US and UK are usually about half a size to a full size apart, and women's US shoe sizes run about 1.5 sizes larger than men's US sizes for the same physical foot length.

Because the underlying scales are built differently, a size that looks numerically close in two systems can be a genuinely different fit. This is the single most common cause of ill-fitting online orders from a country whose sizing you don't normally shop — converting first, then double-checking the retailer's own cm/in chart, avoids the guesswork.

How do I find my size from a measurement?

Quick answerFor shoes, measure heel-to-longest-toe in centimeters and enter it in the Foot length (cm) field — 24 cm ≈ EU 38, 25 cm ≈ EU 39, 26 cm ≈ EU 41. For clothing, enter your bust/waist/hip (or chest) measurement in centimeters and the tool selects your closest size automatically.

Brand fit notes: runs small, true to size, or relaxed?

The same labeled size fits differently at every brand. General fit tendencies below (for guidance only — cut can vary by collection):

Runs small
Zara / MangoNarrow, shorter cut; consider sizing up.
Runs small
Nike (shoes)About half a size small; add +0.5 in EU sizing.
Runs small
SHEIN / AliExpressAsian-cut sizing; sizing up one size is usually safest.
True to size
Adidas (shoes)Generally true to the labeled size.
True to size
UniqloClose to standard US sizing, slightly slim cut.
Relaxed
Old Navy / GapComfortable cut; true to size or one down.
Relaxed
H&M (tops)Often loose/long; consider sizing down.
Varies
Amazon private brandsVaries by brand — check "fit" notes in reviews.
🛒 Buying from a European or British brand: Sites based in the EU or UK (like ASOS, Next, or many European retailers) usually list sizes in EU or UK, not US. Convert your US size with the tool above, then compare the retailer's own cm measurements on the product page. For SHEIN/AliExpress, always check the actual cm garment measurements rather than the labeled size — sizing up is the safer default.

How to measure yourself: step-by-step guides

An accurate conversion starts with an accurate measurement. The right way to measure your body and feet with a tape measure:

👣 How do I measure my shoe size?
  1. Measure in the evening — feet swell throughout the day, so a morning measurement runs small.
  2. Place a sheet of paper on the floor against a wall; stand on it wearing socks, with your weight evenly distributed.
  3. Holding a pencil upright, mark the back of your heel and the tip of your longest toe.
  4. Measure the distance between the two marks with a ruler (to the nearest millimeter). Measure both feet and use the larger one.
  5. Enter the cm value into the "Foot length (cm)" field. We suggest about 0.5-1 cm of extra room for comfort — a bit more for running shoes.

Example: A foot measuring 26.2 cm typically falls in a standard-width EU 41-42 (men's US 8-8.5 / UK 7.5-8).

📏 How do I measure bust, waist, and hip for clothing?
  1. Bust/chest: Wrap the tape around the fullest point of the bust/chest, keeping it level across the back.
  2. Waist: Measure at the narrowest point (usually just above the navel); don't pull the tape tight.
  3. Hip: Measure at the widest point, with feet together.
  4. Enter these three measurements in the women's/men's cm fields. Tops are sized by bust/chest and bottoms by hip; if they differ, you may need separate sizes per piece.

For men with a slimmer build, also measure neck (collar) circumference separately for dress shirts — suit size is set by chest, shirt size by collar.

👙 How do I measure band and cup size for a bra?
  1. Band (underbust): Wrap the tape directly under the bust, keeping your back straight and the tape level. Round to the nearest 5 (78 → EU 80).
  2. Bust: Measure at the fullest point of the bust; the tape should neither compress nor sag.
  3. Cup: The bust-minus-band difference sets the cup letter. Roughly: ~12 cm → A, ~14 cm → B, ~16 cm → C, ~18 cm → D.
  4. Enter both measurements in the bra mode fields to get your size across systems plus a sister-size suggestion.

What's a "sister size"? If the band feels loose but the cup feels small, try going down a band and up a cup (e.g. 34C ≈ 32D). Cup volume stays the same while the band gets snugger.

🧒 Kids' sizing: age or height?

EU kids' clothing sizing is directly a height (cm) system (EN 13402): a size 92 fits a child about 92 cm tall, a size 104 fits about 104 cm. Age is only a rough guide, since children of the same age can vary in height by 10-15 cm.

  1. Stand the child barefoot with their back against a wall.
  2. Mark a straight line down from the top of the head and measure the height (cm).
  3. Enter that value in the "Height (cm)" field for the closest US/EU/UK size and age range.

In the US, a "T" after a number means toddler: 2T ≈ 92 cm, 4T ≈ 104 cm.

Size terms glossary

Mondopoint (ISO 9407)An international shoe-sizing system based directly on foot length in millimeters. The EU size is its Paris-point equivalent.
EN 13402The European clothing size standard. For kids' clothing it ties size directly to body height (cm).
Band (bra)The circumference measurement around the ribcage, directly under the bust. In the EU it climbs in steps of 5 (65-70-75-80…).
CupThe difference between bust and band measurement. Roughly every 1 in / 2-2.5 cm raises the cup one letter (A, B, C, D…).
Sister sizeA neighboring size that keeps the same cup volume while changing the band (e.g. 34C ≈ 32D ≈ 36B).
Width (shoes)The shoe's width measurement: narrow (B/D), normal (D/M), wide (2E/W). Fit varies even within the same length size.

Frequently asked questions

What is a US size 8 in EU and UK sizes?
In women's clothing, a US 8 = an EU 40, a UK 12, and roughly a letter size L. The general rule is EU = US + 32. Men's shirt/suit sizing is read differently (by collar or chest measurement in inches). A one-size deviation by brand is normal.
What US and UK shoe size is an EU 40?
An EU 40 men's shoe ≈ a US 7 / UK 6.5, and roughly a 25.5 cm foot length. In women's shoes, an EU 40 is roughly a US 8.5 / UK 6.5. For the same physical foot length, the women's US size runs about 1.5 sizes larger than the men's US size.
What shoe size is a 24 cm or 26 cm foot?
24 cm ≈ EU 38 (men's US 5.5 / women's US 7 / UK 5), 25 cm ≈ EU 39-40, 26 cm ≈ EU 41, 27 cm ≈ EU 43. Most people add 0.5-1 cm of comfort room on top of their measured length, which usually means sizing up half to a full size. Use the "Foot length (cm)" field in shoe mode to find yours.
What is a women's US 8 shoe in men's sizing?
Women's US 8 ≈ men's US 6.5. Rule of thumb: men's size = women's size − 1.5. Both correspond to roughly the same EU 39. This is especially useful for unisex sneakers, since many are only sold in men's US sizing.
What is a US 34B bra in UK and EU sizing?
US 34B = UK 34B ≈ EU 75B. The band number 34 reflects a ribcage measurement of roughly 30-32 inches (≈78-82 cm in the EU's centimeter-based band numbers); a B cup means a bust-minus-band difference of roughly 12-14 cm. Cup letters diverge between systems after D — a US/UK DD is roughly an EU E. Fill in the band and bust fields in bra mode to find yours.
What US size and age is a kids' size 104?
Size 104 ≈ a child 98-104 cm tall ≈ a US 4T (roughly age 4; UK label 3-4 years). Sizing should be chosen by height rather than age — EU kids' sizing directly represents height: size 104 means a child about 104 cm tall. Measuring height and entering it in kids mode gives the most accurate result.
What does a men's shirt collar size mean?
Dress shirt sizing is based on neck (collar) circumference. US/UK collar sizes are in inches (e.g. 15.5"), while the EU size is the same circumference in centimeters (e.g. 39-40). Roughly: collar 15" ≈ S, 15.5-16" ≈ M, 16.5-17" ≈ L, 17.5-18" ≈ XL. Suit/jacket size is set separately by chest circumference — men's mode shows both together.
How do I pick a size when shopping from a European or British brand?
European and UK retailers usually list sizes in EU or UK rather than US. First convert your usual US size to EU/UK with this tool, then always cross-check the retailer's own centimeter measurements on its size chart. SHEIN and AliExpress tend to run small/narrow, so sizing up is generally the safer choice for most items; for other brands, check "fit" feedback in customer reviews.
Is a size chart the same for every brand?
No — these are a standard reference; every brand cuts to its own pattern. Zara/Mango tend to run small, Nike shoes often run about half a size small, while brands like Old Navy or Gap tend to run true-to-size or relaxed. Whenever possible, cross-check the converted size against the brand's own cm measurements. This tool is for general guidance, not a guaranteed fit.
What is a US size 8 in Japanese, Australian, French, or Italian sizing?
A women's US 8 (EU 40) is roughly a Japanese size 13, an Australian 12, a French 40, and an Italian 44. France uses the same numbering as the EU standard, while Italy typically runs about 4 numbers higher than the EU size. Japanese sizing is closer to a bust-based scale (7/9/11/13…) rather than the US numbering, so treat the match as approximate — always check the brand's own cm chart when buying from a Japanese retailer.
Sources & methodology: Conversion values are based on widely used international sizing standards: the Mondopoint (ISO 9407) and Paris-point (EU) relationship for shoes, the EN 13402 height system for kids' clothing, and the standard women's rule EU = US + 32 / UK = US + 4. Charts were last updated in July 2026 and assume adult, standard-width sizing. Brand fit notes are general tendencies — every collection can vary.
